How much will 1kg epoxy resin cover?
The typical coaster size is around 100mm square, so you will need approximately 0.01kg of resin per coaster.
This means that with a 1000g bag of resin, you can cover around 100 coasters.
If you are using a different sized coaster, or want to make more or less than 100 coasters, you can use this calculator to work out how much resin you will need.
How much does 16 oz epoxy cover?
A quart of epoxy will cover about 16 square feet. So, if you are making coasters that are four inches in diameter, you will need about 0.0625 quarts or two ounces of resin. This assumes a uniform coat with no drips or sags.
You may want to use more resin if your coaster is larger or has intricate details.
How much epoxy do I need for 4 coasters?
Depending on the type of coaster you are making, and the thickness of your resin a general rule is to use between 30-50ml per coaster.
Some people will suggest more than this but it is not necessary and it can get very expensive if you want to make multiple coasters in one batch!
